Greater order flow control is one of the features that makes the Ordin Store Display more than just a regular Kitchen Display.
Order Lifecycle
The lifecycle of an order is as follows:
- Creating. This is the state of the order while it’s being build by the customer.
- Pending*. When an order has been checked out by a customer it becomes pending until it is accepted or refused. The default behaviour is that the order is accepted automatically, and the Ordin Store Display needs to be used to manually accept or decline orders.
- Live*. Once an order has been accepted, it becomes live. This means that it needs to be prepared. This state is skipped by default, and the Ordin Store Display needs to be used to manage live orders.
- Ready*. Once an order has been prepared it becomes ready. This means that the order has been completed but still needs to be handed over to the customer. This state is skipped by default, and the Ordin Store Display needs to be used to manage ready orders.
- Completed. This is the final state of a successful order. A completed order has both been prepared and handed over to the customer.
As described above, only the creating and completed states are available by default. This might be sufficient in some cases, but it’s gives the store very limited control over their orders.
To give the store more control of both their POS and Online Orders, the Ordin Store Display can be used.
